As you explore the exhibition, you are guaranteed to get a taste of the Russian Empire: samovars had played a major part in forming the social fabric of Vladivostok, since its founding days all the way through to the late 1920s.
You are invited to delve into the history of Vladivostok’s tea rooms and immerse yourself in the ambiance of the town’s merchant houses where, back in the day, you would go for every item your household needed. You will learn what role the samovar had played in the life of the town’s residents, entrepreneurs, travelers, and even artists of the land.
As part of the exhibition, you are invited to attend a variety of events planned for both the adult and child visitors, among which are:
Art Workshops for the students of Vladivostok’s Children’s Schools of Fine Arts,
Photo Days: Commemorate your visit via having your photo taken,
Contest: Who best describes a samovar of their choice?
To conclude the exhibition, we will display the young art students' works — samovar still lifes — showing the items presented in the Getmanovs' collection.
We look forward to welcoming you to the gallery!
The exhibition lasts until August the 10th.
